"Rosie" is a 50ft (15metre) open sided narrow boat originally built for the Huddersfield Canal Restoration Society in 1986 by Cammel Laird apprentices. She was named Greater Manchester and worked tirelessly raising money for the Canal charity eventually being sold to Foulridge Canal Cruisers between Burnley and Skipton on the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Her livery was changed from orange to green and red and she became ‘Barden Broomstick’ carrying shoppers from Burnley town to Barden mill shop and back at the weekends.

Again she came up for sale and was bought as an ideal first boat for Camboats to ply the River Cam and Gt Ouse. The family worked hard to restore ‘Rosie’ and get all the necessary training and licences to trade on the river between Cambridge and Ely for individuals, families, schools and groups. We continue to develop the range of services Camboats offer.

A recent addition to the fleet in 2018 is the luxury 24' Eco electric boat "Princess Charlotte". In 2020 the boat was upgraded with the installation of a set of solar panels, making her what is believed to be the first inland river based solar powered passenger boat i the UK.  Powered by sunlight and and a battery bank for reserve power, coupled to a pollution free whisper quiet electric motor, gives over 10 hours a day of river cruising time.

Each boat is designed for up to twelve passengers, so larger groups of up to twenty four can now travel together in convoy!
