We are pleased to be able to offer this unique cruise in partnership with the Cambridge Museum of Technology, based at the Old Pumping Station on Riverside

Standing high above Cambridge, the chimney being the tallest building structure for miles around. The chimney shaft is 53m (175ft) tall, and is 1.8m (6ft) across the top. Beside the river between Stourbridge Common and Midsummer Common on Riverside, the museum shows the progression of power technology through steam, internal combustion, to electricity.

The exhibits in the museum include working engines, telephone exchanges, printing presses and many wonderful and interesting contraptions.

The museum has just undergone a Lottery Grant funded upgrade with a new visitor education room and can now exhibit more of its collection of artifacts.

In association with staff from the museum Camboats offer this unique cruise. These "Museum Afloat" tours can either be run as a private tour for groups, or during the summer public trips are also available.

As you drift along the river, a running commentary is given of key landmarks and information about the museum itself. Various artifacts from the museums collections are brought aboard for passengers to handle and ask questions.
