We had a 3-hour cruise on ‘Rosie’ as a private hire for a special wedding anniversary, out to the Fens and then back to Cambridge City Centre. The countryside was beautiful and the city really interesting, as the rowing season was getting going. Peter was brilliant, helpful in advance, extremely informative as we chugged along the river, pleasant and accommodating throughout. We ate a nice lunch and relaxed into the gentle pace. It was an extremely enjoyable experience and it is honestly hard to know how it could have been bettered. Thoroughly recommended!
We had a fabulous 45 minute trip.
Peter is an excellent guide and made the trip extremely enjoyable.
There is certainly plenty to see and lots of wildlife.
We are returning to the area again in early October and will definitely do another trip.
One thing we would change? Take a longer trip as it was such a fun thing to do!
Perfect ‘socially distanced’ Cambridge activity
Thank you Camboats for skippering our trip on the fabulous Eco Solar Electric boat ‘Princess Charlotte’. We had a brilliant time celebrating my husband’s birthday. The glasses and blankets were a thoughtful and classy touch.
The boat was comfortable, there was plenty of space for us and peaceful thanks to the electric engine. We live in Cambridge but seeing the river from the boat was a whole new experience. Best of all were the stunning panoramic views you get from the boat’s open front and sides
Nearly five hours at 4 miles an hour. Bliss!
A group of us set off on The Rosie with Peter the skipper for a private charter from Ely to The Plough in Fen Ditton late August. Once aboard there is absolutely nothing to do for four and a half hours apart from chat, munch on the picnic and most importantly, look. Willows reflected in the water, swans, grebe, herons and even the flash of a kingfisher. You get the picture……… I’ve done this trip 3 times now and it’s becoming addictive! Especially in these strange times to be able to gather with a few friends socially distanced and share a day very definitely in nature’s slow lane was a complete treat.
